so, i made this last year sometime for a friend of mine who had cancer. i was in such a hurry to get it to her, that i didn't take a picture of it at the time. well, she has passed now, and it has been given back to me, so i figured i could take a pic now.

for the life of me, i can not remember where i got the pattern. i believe it was a gloria & pat design. was DEFINATELY a free online pattern for the making.

It's beautiful, thank you for posting it. My "other mother" (mom's best friend who helped raise me) is suffering from cancer, but boy is she lively!! I think this would be the perfect holiday gift for her, thanks for such a perfect idea :-)

i am just glad that she had people around that cared for her. i had a grandmother that, when she died, she felt like no one loved her. that is a horibble thing to feel when you need people the most.

thank you for your comment.

Wow... That's incredibly powerful. How wonderful of you to make this for your friend!

I can't speak for her, obviously, but just knowing that there's someone out there who cared for someone else so much certainly makes me feel better!

i just thought she was such an amazing person. she raised a son on her own while working 12 hr swing shifts at a local refinery. even after being diagnosed she continued to fight so hard to keep everything going. i just hope that if i am ever faced with such a battle as she that i will be able to find even half the strength and courage she did.
